This training brings structure to creative idea generation, and demonstrates how to transfer benefits and ideas from across all domains. In an open innovation environment, the participants will discuss new and interesting opportunities, providing a creative external view on their innovation management. Due to the specific content of the training, the participants will immediately experience the practical application of the methodology.
Lecturer Creax has developed a methodology for systematically generating new ideas and concepts, by looking at the product in an abstract way and using inspiration from other domains. The methodology gives a 4 step approach to concept generation:
1. Value equation: what are the value factors of your product, and how can the value be increased? The value equation
offers a structure for your innovation efforts by focussing on 4 separate elements; performance, sustainability,
convenience and efficiency
2. The 9 windows: By thinking outside the box, in terms of space and time and employing the 9 windows tool we
survey all resources and constraints.
3. Our concept of ProductDNA® encompasses the properties and functions that truly define your system. It is a
working-base from which you can find systems that are similar to yours. Identifying these differences and
similarities provide a fertile ground for transferring technology and ideas from one sector to another.
4. Using the Property-Function relation, you can make informed decisions on how to evolve your product or
process so that it is in essence a better solution for your customer and your bottom-line.
