EFCA is delighted to announce that Gitte Gylling Hammershøj Olesen is the winner of the tenth edition of the EFCA Young Professionals competition. A total of 18 young professionals from 7 countries entered the high-level contest. All projects were of remarkably high quality, which made the evaluation that much more difficult for the jury.
The winner, Gitte Gylling Hammershøj Olesen, is 35 years old and is the Chief Specialist Manager for Sustainable Buildings at Ramboll, Denmark. Gitte carried out the sustainability management of the Middelfart City Hall and City Centre's project in Denmark, that was the first public building in Denmark to receive the DGNB Platinum and Diamond certifications.
The jury recognized Gitte’s enthusiastic driving force on the project presented, by communicating and understanding the needs of the various stakeholders and then managing a project in where environmental, social, economic, technical and processual sustainability qualities were jointly developed. Gitte received the award at the EFCA 2019 conference on 9-11 May in Dublin.
The jury also congratulates the two runners-up: Claus Maimann Davidsen and Henrik Bredahl Kock.
Claus Maimann Davidsen (Denmark), 34 years old, is an engineer and project manager at Nordiq Group, Denmark. Claus had a leading role on the project for the realization of the co-housing community Magelose in Denmark.
Henrik Bredahl Kock (Denmark), 32 years old, is an engineer and Head of Bridges at COWI, Denmark-India. Henrik developed the ship impact requirements for the design basis of the New Storstrøm Bridge, an innovative engineering work that will link Fehmarn (Germany) and Rødby (Denmark), strengthening the ties between the Scandinavian region and the rest of Europe.
